About Me
The important things...
I am married to my best friend and life rock, Beth. I have the most amazingly brilliant and energetic son, Reed, who keeps his mom and me on our toes and full of laughter. I am blessed with a loving family and friends; and I get to come to work every day and spend time with people who not only appreciate what we do for them, but genuinely care about us.
The professional things...
I was the first person in my family to attend, let alone graduate from college. I worked two jobs while paying for my education at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am incredibly proud that I obtained my BS in Finance and even graduated with a few Latin words after my name (Cum Laude), beginning my career in Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch in 2003. I continued my education as I built my career at Merrill and achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification (CFP®), awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Our team joined Steward Partners and Raymond James in 2018 after nearly two years of extensive due diligence across numerous investment firms. In 2026, we made the decision, with great difficulty, to operate solely under Raymond James.
The interesting things...
The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, spoken at conferences across the country, and received various accolades, the best conversations happen when I'm with the families we serve. That's when we talk about more intriguing topics—books, movies, dreams, travel, sports, children, grandchildren, and yes, even politics!
To sum up what makes me who I am: My Beth, and my Reed, are central to my life and are always a priority. My favorite book is All Quiet on the Western Front—I first read it at 14 and it changed my view on life (though Atlas Shrugged runs a close second). Old Christmas movies tug at my heartstrings, and I never fail to tear up at the end of Rudy and Field of Dreams. I’ve watched every episode of Seinfeld at least a hundred times (and now the same goes for Mad Men). My taste in music is eclectic; I love everything from Sinatra and Miles Davis to Garth Brooks and Elton John. I’m passionate about traveling and am always open to suggestions—NYC, Charleston, Boston, and Bar Harbor are more local frequent favorites. Although I treasure travel adventures, the ocean is my lifelong obsession. I'm a soul surfer at heart and own more surfboards than anyone outside the professional circuit should—many make appearances in my videos or calls!
